Climate & Conditions

Designing for Queensland

A dense, perfectly trimmed green privacy hedge bordering an estate lawn.

Queensland’s climate demands a considered design response. Heat, humidity and seasonal rainfall patterns across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and coastal regions influence every decision, from soil preparation through to the selection of structural planting and hard materials.

In the cooler elevated zones of the Darling Downs and the Granite Belt, conditions shift considerably and a wider range of formal planting becomes viable. Whittemore Brown Design approaches each Queensland site with a thorough understanding of its specific climate and soil conditions before design work commences.
