Site Context

The Site

The site is open and exposed, with high winds, prolonged heavy frosts through winter and fierce summer heat. Soil preparation was as critical as plant selection, with quality growing medium brought in to build a soil profile capable of sustaining a thriving garden through such climatic extremes.

Every design decision responded directly to the environmental conditions of the Central West, ensuring the garden could remain resilient, functional and beautiful throughout the changing seasons.

Craftsmanship

The Glasshouse

A contemporary white outbuilding with large glass windows surrounded by fresh green grass.

The standout element of the design is a glasshouse inspired by classic European greenhouse architecture. Positioned to connect naturally with both the house and garden, it creates a light-filled space that remains welcoming throughout the colder months.

Designed as both a practical retreat and an elegant entertaining space, the glasshouse extends the usability of the garden well beyond the warmer seasons.

Outcome

The Result

As the garden matures, the individual spaces will continue to soften and settle naturally into their surroundings, strengthening the sense of calm and retreat throughout the property.

The result is a country garden designed for year-round enjoyment — a landscape that feels restorative, generous and deeply connected to the rhythms of the Central West.
